On the first Sunday of every month, we'll have a fun outing, party, mission project, or field trip lieu of regular UMYF (time & location will vary according to the activity). UMYF is for students in the 7th through 12th grade and visitors are always welcome.
Wednesday:
6:00-8:00 p.m. – “Physical Fellowship”
A mid-week break for 7th through 12 grade students, including open gym time, an organized activity, devotions, snacks and board & video games in the lounge. Come hang out at this casual gathering each week! Bring your homework if you like.
CONFIRMATION: Shawnee has a stellar comprehensive Confirmation program spanning 13 weeks, including classes, field trips, mission projects, worship leadership, one-on-one mentorship and a retreat. Confirmation begins in January and runs through the first weekend of May.
Click here for more information on the confirmation process.
SUMMER TRIPS: Each summer youth have the opportunity to serve through mission and live out their faith on trips away from home! On even-numbered years we offer two mission trips- one for middle school students, close to home for 3-4 days and one for senior high which is more challenging, farther away and a full week long. During odd-numbered years youth may participate in several days of local mission work, staying in town, (like a “stay-cation”), followed by a trip to the Jurisdictional or National United Methodist youth gathering.
